A collection of information from forums and other sources for my car builds
I decided to try and organize the information that I have been amassing from searching the web for details that are sometimes hard to come by when trying to fix something broken on the vehicles. Some of the information here is just cut and pasted from other sites, I have tried very hard to make sure I include the link from where I found the information.
So why reproduce this here, well I find that sometimes I forget where I gathered the info from in the first place, and other times it took so long to find that I wanted an easy access point for all of this hard work. Yes, bookmarks work, but this is much more fun and hopefully better organized, and easily accessible from any internet connected device. The information gathered here represents many, many hours of searching for the best of the best.
I do have a few cars, but they are all relatively inexpensive to own and repair. When I figure out how I will have separate sections for each detailing the fixes, problems, and solutions required to keep things moving. Many of the projects will target something that has gone wrong with the car and won't involve a complete rebuild. My 1987 325is, which is my daily driver for a couple of months longer, is in relatively good shape and I just want to keep it that way. Some of the projects, like the 1975 TR6 restoration are a major undertaking, while the 1974 VW Thing project is aimed at just trying to get the "thing" on the road with the least amount of intervention and simply keep it from rusting. The 1987 325e is also more or less a daily driver, but this will be the foundation from which I plan to build up the e30 with an M30 motor, possibly turbocharged, possibly just rebuilt with a hotter cam, I am just not sure yet.
This website is a work in progress, so sometimes things may not look the same, or maybe a link or two is broken, or the site may be down for a short time, or .....
You get the picture, its a project website, and I don't have enough time!
I hope that the info. here actually saves you some time!
